Chamber is a space where one encounters memories deeply personal to Komsic, recounting the experience of a miscarriage she had at the age of 20 while traveling overseas. Presenting a new installation, Komsic assembles fragments, memories, and moments that evoke the invasive processes she underwent and the ways in which her body integrated with and was affected by medical materials. Through the fusion of ceramics, print, found objects, and water, her body becomes exposed and undergoes an anthropomorphic transformation where internal images manifest as sculptural forms, laying bare the most vulnerable and fragile moment of her life to date. The act of sharing her past creates a space for dialogue and an openness surrounding the subjects of miscarriage and birth. These topics are often obscured or omitted from public discourse, yet they must be acknowledged.
